Day 23 Texas El Paso to Fort Hancock

Last night we had dinner at The Tap which was a great local lounge with delicious Mexican food and the Beatles playing in the background. It reminded us of the Checkerboard in Chicago.

Today we started out with breakfast at the downtown McDonalds which was a part of the local experience. The morning was cold and overcast with a strong headwind. It didn't warm up for quite a while.

On the way we had a cantaloupe melon juice from a stand on the side of the road with conveniently placed table and chairs.

We rode on to Fabens where we had a great lunch at Margaritas - the best looking dish was the chilaqules that Joe had.

Tonight we are staying at a community church. Thanks to Errol's ingenious use of a bicycle inner tube attached to the kitchen faucet and directed out the window we were able to take a shower with a view of the cotton fields.
