Well into the trip having left San Diego and climbed over the coastal mountain range for 100 miles to get into the Yuha desert. We stayed in ocotillo last evening and now are in the imperial valley staying in Brawley a very productive farm area-barren at this time but productive over the winter months.
We are a group of 14, but cycle in small groups periodically meeting on hilltops or local restaurants. We have, been riding with Olaf from hamburg who does not speak much English
but is good company and has helped us change the three flat tires we have had so far.
We touched the Mexican border and saw the border fence. The territory is very hostile illegal immigrants to attempt to traverse.
Pictures include the Ocotillo cactus, the group at the top of a climb and our breakfast stop at a taco shop in Seeley.
